The defending Philadelphia County Champion opened its 2013 campaign on Wednesday night with a road victory against the Marlins from the Lower Bucks League.

Ryan McCrea paced East Butler with three hits to lead his team to a league victory over Butler City on Thursday.

New Orleans (LA) wins 2012 ALB World Series

The 2012 American Legion Baseball World Series commences Friday morning in Shelby, North Carolina.  Eight regional champions will vie for legion baseball's top prize.  You can catch all of the action live at espn3.com.  Stats and other information from the tournament can be found here.

Another year, another thrilling championship win for Brooklawn (NJ) over a southeast PA team.  The Brookers defended their 2011 Mid-Atlantic title over Boyertown (Region 2) with a 9-8 come from behind win over Spring City (Region 3) just a few minutes ago.

Spring City led big early, racing out to an 8-0 lead.  Brooklawn battled back and scored five runs to tie it in the bottom of the ninth, including a game tying grand slam.  The NJ state champs plated the winning run in the bottom of the tenth.

They head to Shelby, NC for the 2012 ALB World Series.  We'll have coverage of that tournament starting later this week.

Congratulations to Doylestown and Spring City on impressive regional tournament runs and also on great seasons as a whole!

The Mid-Atlantic National Regional Tournament gets underway Thursday morning at Owls Field in West Lawn.  We'll have periodic updates on our twitter feed throughout the tournament.  The National Legion Organization will provide live play-by-play and stats online through all of the games.  A link to the tournament schedule is below.  Just click on a game in the calendar and link will appear for the Gametracker Live Stats.  Also below are links to the full bracket, as well as a schedule of games that we'll update with scores throughout the tournament.

One other note:  if you are heading out to Owls Field for the tournament, please be aware that you should bring a folding/camping chair with you.  There is no permanent seating at the field.

West Lawn Information Page

Conestoga swept two games on the tournament's final day to win the state title in Pottstown.  Conestoga defeated Wissahickon 6-4 in Game 14 to advance to the title game against league rival Avon Grove.  Conestoga took that game as well by a 4-3 score.  Congratulations to Conestoga on its title.

Spring City claimed the state Junior Legion title today by virtue of its 12-9 victory over Newtown.  The Red Sox finished the season 39-4 and swept through the tournament going 5-0.  Spring City was paced by its strong offense.  The Red Sox averged over 13 runs a game through state tournment at Spring City.  Along with the Senior team's state runner up finish and upcoming national regional appearance, it's been a strong summer for the Spring City program.
