Central Penn League Bracket

The Central Penn League will commence its double elimination playoffs on Wednesday.  First round matchups are below.  All games will be played at the home field of the higher seed.  The final will be played on Monday, or Tuesday if an extra game is necessary.

2nd Annual Next Level Baseball Showcase

On Thursday July 19th, Boyertown's Bear Stadium will play host to the second annual Next Level baseball showcase.  Last year's inaugural event played host to a large field of prospective college athletes, over twenty colleges and universities, and multiple professional scouts.  Two players from last year's event received scholarship assistance as a result of their performance, and many underclassmen have experienced greater contact with college coaches since the event.

Indiana County Playoffs Set

The Indiana County playoffs are set with two best-of-three semifinals series getting underway Wednesday, July 11.  Regular season champion Blairsville ( 21-3 ) will face Young Twp ( 14-10 ).  Punxsutawney ( 21-3 ), which finished in second place based on its head-to-head record with Blairsville, takes on a red-hot Marion Center team ( 16-8 ) that won its final 8 games of the season.  By virtue of its regular season title, Blairsville has already earned a berth in the Region 7 Tournament in Latrobe later this month.  The #2 team to represent  Indiana County at the tournament will be determined by the playoffs.

Wide Open Berks Playoffs to Begin Wednesday

The double elimination Berks County Playoffs begin Wednesday evening.  With the top five teams in league finishing within two games of each other, the tournament should be very wide open.  The first two rounds will be at the home fields of the higher seeded teams.  The remaining rounds will be played at Shillington's Rulon Griffith Field.


Regular season champion Shillington will host last place Conrad Weiser.  The West Lawn Owls travel to league newcomer Norchester in the other matchup on one side of the bracket.  Exeter, the two seed, hosts Twin Valley, while Daniel Boone goes to Bear Stadium to take on Boyertown.  The winner of the playoff tournament will join West Lawn at the regional tournament.  If West Lawn wins the playoff title, then the runner up woud claim the regional berth.

Norco Playoff Matchups Set

The matchups for the best of three quarterfinal series have been set in the Northampton County League.  Regular season champion Bath is seeded first, and takes on eight seed Easton.  Division rival Nazareth, the two seed, faces Freemansburg.  Roseto and Palmer Township will meet in the 4-5 matchup, while local rivals East Stroudsburg (#3) and Kemp Post  (#6) will face off in the remaining series.

Each series will conducted Monday through Wednesday.  Games One and Three will be hosted by the higher seeds, with the exception of the East Stroudsburg - Kemp Post series.  All games in the series will be played at Kemp's home field at Stroudsburg High School.  The league champion will advance to the Region Two Tournament at West Lawn in two weeks.

First Day of District 31 Playoffs in the Books

Game Two in each series is scheduled for Sunday.  The games will be hosted by West Hempfied, Unity, Derry, and Mount Pleasant.  Check back for further results from around the state.


Elk County Playoffs Start Sunday

Two first round games mark the start of the Elk County League Playoffs on Sunday.  Five seed Smethport travels to Fox Township in one matchup, while three seed Bradford hosts six seeded Port Allegany.  The first round victors will advance to semifinal matchups on Monday.  The Fox Township - Smethport winner will take on regular season champ Wilcox.  St. Mary's awaits the Bradford - Port Allegany winner.

Uniontown Leads Seven Team Field in Fayette Co. Postseason

Uniontown has earned Fayette County's regular season title and the top seed in the league's playoffs.  The seven team affair will begin on Monday with three first round series.  Two seed Connellsville will host Masontown, while in the other two series, six seed California visits Colonial and four seed Charleroi hosted five seeded Farmington.  Uniontown, which has recieved a first round bye for its first place finish, will await the three winners in the semifinal round.  Each first round series will be best of three games, with games one and three, if necessary, hosted by the higher seeds.

Hawley and Hamlin Sweep into District 15 Finals

Hawley and Hamlin finished off their respective semifinal series to move on to District 15's best of three championship series.  Following a 5-0 win at home on Thursday evening, Hawley defeated Hamlin 6-5 on Friday night to win the series.  Milford hammered Montrose 11-1 in a game stopped after five innings due to the mercy rule.  As the top seed, Hawley will have home field advantage for the championship series, which begins on Tuesday.  The league champ will represent Disctrict 15 at the Region Five Tournament beginning July 21st at Scranton's Connell Park.

Towanda Advances in Bradford-Tioga Playoffs

Towanda defeated Troy 11-2 Friday evening to advance to today's final four in the Bradford-Tioga League Playoffs.  They will meet Wellsboro in one semifinal, with Athens set to play in the other semifinal.  Athens awaits the winner of Wyalusing and Canton in that game.  The semifinal survivors will play later Saturday for the league title.  All of today's games will be played in East Troy.  The winner of the championship contest will move on to regional play in Scranton in a couple of weeks.

District 31 Playoffs Begin Today

District 31 in the state's Region Seven begins its eight team playoff tournament today.  The first round, which comprises of four best of three series, starts this afternoon with each game hosted for the higher seed.  Regular season champ Hempfield East hosts eight seed Derry, while seven seed Mt. Pleasant visits two seed Irwin.  Regional host Latrobe, the four seed, hosts rival Unity Township.  In the final matchup, West Hempfield travels to third seeded Kiski Valley.


On Sunday, the same teams will face off at the fields of the lower seeds.  Game three of each series, if necessary, will be played back at the homes of the higher seeded teams on Monday.  The league playoff champion will advance to the Region Seven Tournament at Latrobe.  Should Latrobe win the playoff crown, the runner up would join the Jethawks at regionals.

Six Team Playoff Field Ready in District 11

The six team playoff field in Region Five's District 11 has been set.  Regular season champion and top seed Valley View leads the way.  Post 411 won the title by two games.  The second seed, Green Ridge, will join Valley View in the semifinals, as both teams have first round byes.  Single elimination will determine the other two semifinalists.  In one first round game, six seed Dickson City will travel to West Scranton to take on three seed Post 920.  Five seeded Moscow will take on four seed South Scranton in Sunday's other game.


The best of three semifinals will begin on Tuesday.  The three game championship series is scheduled to begin on July 14th.  The league playoff champion will advance to the Region Five Tournament in Scranton later this month.
