Action at the Region Two Tournament in West Lawn began this morning with North Parkland of the Lehigh Valley League defeating Berks Champ Twin Valley by a score of 9-7.  Twin Valley will play in Game 5 of the Loser's Bracket tomorrow at 9:45, while North Parkland advances to the Game 7 in the Winner's Bracket at 4pm.  More updates to follow as they come in...

The time is here... the 2010 Pennsylvania state playoffs have begun in the seven regions throughout the state!  From hundreds of hopeful teams at the beginning of the season, we're now down to 56.

Good luck to all the participants, and be sure to check back here often for updated brackets and results from around the state!

We've uploaded all of the regional pages for the seven PA Region tournaments that commence Saturday morning across the state.  Some of the brackets have a missing piece or two due to a lack of available information.  We'll fill in what's missing as soon as we get the correct teams.

Regional tournament pages are located in the drop down menu underneath the news heading at the top left of the page.

Regional pages for Regions 5 and 6 have been loaded and Regions 7 and 8 will come shortly.

Not every match-up or time slot is completely confirmed yet (those Regions using a host field without lights generally play all the games during the day at two sites).

As soon as we can confirm the information, we'll update all of the regions accordingly.

To access the regional pages, simply scroll over the 'news' heading and then right and down to the region of choice.  As always, old Internet Explorer versions may give you issues.  It's possible that if you're running an older version of IE, that the regional tournaments are listed under the separate regional titles at the top of the page.

We've added regional tournament pages for Regions 2, 3, and 4 so far.  We'll be adding the other regions (and filling in the missing teams) as soon as we can.

To find the pages, simply scroll over the 'news' heading in the navigation bar, down to postseason tournaments, and then to the right for your choice. 

**It's possible that if you're running an old version of Internet Explorer that the postseason tournament pages are located under the individual region headings at the top of the page, and not under the news section.  In that event, simply scroll over the desired region and down to the first selection.

With playoff action heating up around the state, we have been posting many updates from various regions and leagues.  To check out any information that you may have missed, be sure to click the "View Older Posts" link at the bottom of front page.

Play in the Susquehanna Valley and West Branch Leagues is down to the final pairings.  In the Susquehanna Valley League, Danville will visit undefeated Selinsgrove in the championship round.  Selinsgrove will have to be beaten twice to be eliminated.  One win will give Selinsgrove another league title and visit to the Region Five Tournament.

In the West Branch League, Sunbury/Northumberland has come through the loser's bracket to advance to the final round against Jersey Shore.  Like Selinsgrove, Jersey Shore must be defeated two times for the title.  They will seek one win Sunday for the West Branch League Championship.  Check back for further updates.

Homer City routed Creps United 15-0 in 5 innings on Saturday to advance to the Indiana County championship round.  Creps United will play Saturday's other victor Indiana Legion at 2pm today in an elimination contest.  The winner will go on to meet Homer City on Monday night.

The playoffs in Region Four's Cumberland County League have been played over the last several days.

Greensburg and Bushy Run will meet in the finals of District 31 following sweeps in the league's semifinal round.  The championship will be played at 5pm at Westmoreland County Community College.  By virtue of their finals appearance, both teams have clinched spots in next week's regional tournament in Clearfield.  Greensburg defeated West Hempfield 11-6 to complete their two game sweep in one semifinal.  In the other series, Bushy Run finished off Murrysville 12-6.  The finals matchup is somewhat surprising as Greensburg and Bushy Run finished sixth and eighth in the league, respectively.

Allegheny County has one of the most unique playoffs formats in the state, as each of the league's in the county sends representatives to one county-wide playoff tournament.  The tournament began Saturday with eight first round games.  The results were:

Fredericksburg stayed alive Saturday night in the Lebanon County playoffs at the expense of Annville.  Fredericksburg won the loser's bracket contest 9-7.  Today's action continues with another elimination game between Fredericksburg and Myerstown.  Undefeated Campbelltown awaits the survivor in the league's championship round.  A trip to Hanover for the Region Four tournament is at stake.

Lower Bucks perennial power Yardley met an abrupt end to its season on Saturday, losing to four seed Newtown by a score of 4-3.  This result gave Newtown a 2 games to none sweep of their best of 3 semifinal series.  Newtown will await the winner of Sunday's game between Falls and Yardley-Morrisville.  Falls took Game One of the series 6-5, but Yardley-Morrisville struck back on Saturday with a 5-4 win.  Sunday's game will be hosted by Falls.  The winner of the league's playoffs advances to Saturday's regional tournament in Warminster.
