Slight Update to Region 7 Bracket

The state announced a slight update to the Region 7 bracket this afternoon.


Essentially, Unity (District 31 #1) and Bedford (Cambria) switched spots.  The first day's matchups are as follows.

Region 3 Bracket Set

The Region 3 Tournament will begin Saturday morning at two fields and is hosted by Falls.


In Game 1, to be played at Cairn University, Bristol will take on Mt. Carmel.  Bristol won the 2011 state championship and qualified for the tournament by way of claiming the Lower Bucks League's second spot.  Mt. Carmel, the Greater Norristown champion, won it's first league tourname...

Region 5 Tournament Field Set

The Region 5 Tournament will begin Saturday with four games being hosted by the Wyoming Valley League.


Mansfield-Wellsboro, the Bradford-Tioga champion will open up their tournament play in the first game of the day against West Scranton, the second representative from District 11.  That game will take place on the campus of Hanover High School.

Region 2 Tournament Field Set

The 2013 PA Region 2 tournament will commence Saturday morning at Bear Stadium in Boyertown with a strong field of teams looking to continue southeastern PA's dominance in the state playoffs.


Boyertown, the host of the tournament, won the Berks County League regular season before going 2-2 in the league playoffs.  The Bears will open up their tournament in game four against Lehigh Val...

Elk County Playoffs Begin Monday

Port Allegany and St. Marys will kick off the Elk County playoffs on Monday evening with a first round matchup.  Elk County regular season champ Wilcox will host the victor on Tuesday.  Wilcox will look to replicate its postseason run from a year ago when it won both the Elk County and Region 8 titles.  Bradford will travel to Fox Townshp for Tuesday's other matchup.  The playoff champion will advance to the Region 8 Tournament in Albion.

Latrobe Leads Field into District 31 Playoffs

Latrobe, fresh off a 16-1 regular season, will be the number one seed in the upcoming District 31 playoffs.  The Jethawks clinched the top spot with a 4-0 win over rival Unity on the 4th of July.  Unity, which finished 15-2 will the the number two seed.  The first round will be contested with four best of three series which begin Monday evening.

State Championship Breakdown

Brooklawn Claims Regional Title

Another year, another thrilling championship win for Brooklawn (NJ) over a southeast PA team.  The Brookers defended their 2011 Mid-Atlantic title over Boyertown (Region 2) with a 9-8 come from behind win over Spring City (Region 3) just a few minutes ago.
