The Indiana County championship series got underway Sunday with #4 seed Indiana Legion beating #3 seed Marion Center by a score of 11-3. Mike Holsinger went the distance, holding Marion Center scoreless over the final five frames to pick up the win. Derek Shields delivered a 3-run triple for Indiana that broke open a tight game. Game Two of the best-of-three series is set for Tuesday at 6pm in Indiana.

Blairsville Kovacik Insurance clinched the Indiana County (Region 7) regular season title with a 5-3 win over Indiana Legion today. Blairsville, 14-5 in the league and 14-7 overall, is playing its first season after a 3-year hiatus. Clearfield and Punsutawney kicked off their seasons on Sunday afternoon with their Jefferson County League opener. Braedon Pennington paced the home team on the mound, pitching all seven innings for the win.
