Spring City's Season Ends In Heartbreaking Fashion

Posted by Legion Baseball on August 7, 2010 at 8:58 PM

All good things must inevitably come to an end.  Over the course of the past few weeks, it appeared that the talented bunch from the Chester County League in Southeastern PA would close their season earlier than anticipated.  They dropped their first game of the Region 3 tournament, before rallying for the championship.  They did it again last week, dropping the first game of the state tournament to Millcreek before winning five in a row.

Hopewell's great aspirations for the state tournament were put to an end this afternoon, when they dropped a lopsided game against Region 3 champion Spring City.  Considered two of the top teams in the tournament, many expected this matchup in the winner's bracket final.

Spring City was never in real danger in this one, as they took advantage of some spotty pitching and a rarely in...

Posted by Legion Baseball on July 19, 2010 at 7:01 PM

Even after a surprising loss yesterday, NorChester still had one more loss between themselves and a painfully early ending to their season.  Their matchup tonight was none other than their longtime rival, the Spring City Red Sox.  NorChester got the best of the Chester County League in southeastern PA in the regular season, claiming the league's first berth to the regional tournament by finishing first.

JP Mascaro Takes Bite Out of NorChester

Posted by Legion Baseball on July 18, 2010 at 10:19 PM

The expectations for NorChester have been incredibly high all season.  For much of the year, the Bulldogs were undefeated and laying waste to their fellow Chester County League competitors.  From our vantage point, many considered NorChester to not only be one of the top teams in the state, but the team to beat in Pennsylvania this year.

After a few near misses at the PA Legion State To...
