The playoffs in the Philadelphia County Legion League have been pared down to two. Top seed Roxborough will host Loudenslager on Sunday at 4:30 in the tournament's champsionship series. Roxborough knocked off NEO to advance to the championship round. The league's champion will advance to next week's Region 3 Tournament.

The Lower Bucks League in Region 3 will begin its postseason tournament on Thursday with a pair of opening round games. The tournament will have two play in games before proceeding to a six team double elimination tournament with the following outline:

Thursday, July 9th

Both games postponed, to be played on Friday.

Friday, July 10th

Play-in games (losers eliminated, winners to double elimination round)

The Greater Norristown League Playoffs began Thursday night with a play-in round game. The tournament will continue with games on Friday.

Thursday's Game

The start of the  four team double elimination Lower MontCo League Tournament has been postponed to Thursday due to rain.  The opening round matchups are as follows:

• Roslyn 12, Morelanders 0
• Jenkintown 2, Fort Washington 1

With a few weeks left in the regular season, Roxborough (9-0) has pulled ahead of the pack in the Philadelphia County League in Region 3.  The undefeate league leaders have a three and a half game lead over Hunting Park (6-4).  Loudenslager (5-4) is currently edging Chestnut Hill (6-5) for third, both teams are four games back.  N.E.O. (5-6, 5 games back) and Bustleton (0-12, 10.5 games back) round out the league standings.

Things couldn't be much tighter atop the Chester County League standings in Region 3.  Exton (11-2) currently enjoys the slimmest of leads, just a half game over Downingtown (10-2).  Just a half game behind Downingtown is Spring City, currently sitting at 11-4.  Another half game separates the Red Sox and fourth place Lionville (8-2).  Lionville is just 1.5 games back overall.  Rounding out the top half of the league are Paoli (9-4, 2 games back) and Phoenixville (7-5...

The Lower Bucks League schedule has been posted to the site.  That means that all 400+ Region 3 regular season games can now be found on the site by clicking on the "Region 3" tab at the top of the page.  Results and league standings will be updated as often as possible.

The Chester County League of Region 3 has added two teams (Kennett and West Chester) for the upcoming season, giving the league twelve teams in total.  Kennett will play its games at Unionville High School while West Chester will play at West Chester East High School.  Field locations for all twelve teams can be found on the Chester County League page.

The Chester County League is down to its final four teams.  Conestoga, the tournament's lone unbeaten team, is scheduled to take on Exton this evening.  In addition, defending regional champion Downingtown will take on Lionville in an elimination game.  The winner of both of those games will meet tomorrow.  If Conestoga wins their game, they will need to be defeated twice for the league title.

Downingtown qualified as the league's first regional participant by way of their regular season title.  Spring City won the league's postseason tournament.  Spring City ended up going winless in the regional tournament while Downingtown swept their way into the title and the state tournament.

Conestoga swept two games on the tournament's final day to win the state title in Pottstown.  Conestoga defeated Wissahickon 6-4 in Game 14 to advance to the title game against league rival Avon Grove.  Conestoga took that game as well by a 4-3 score.  Congratulations to Conestoga on its title.

Spring City claimed the state Junior Legion title today by virtue of its 12-9 victory over Newtown.  The Red Sox finished the season 39-4 and swept through the tournament going 5-0.  Spring City was paced by its strong offense.  The Red Sox averged over 13 runs a game through state tournment at Spring City.  Along with the Senior team's state runner up finish and upcoming national regional appearance, it's been a strong summer for the Spring City prog...
