Nor-Gwyn took part in a doubleheader in York County yesterday against a couple non-league opponents.  In the first game, the Hawks downed Penn Manor of the Lancaster County League.  Nor-Gwyn won it by five, 9-4, with the big bat being swung by Nate Sellers who's two run homerun sealed the victory for the Region 2 team.

Boyertown was able to take advantage of eleven Doylestown walks and three errors, as the Bears downed the Tigers 7-6 in non-league play at Bear Stadium on Saturday night.  Ben Tracy took the loss in relief for Doylestown, pitching 1 1/3 innings and giving up the Bears’ final two runs. Tracy struck out two Boyertown hitters, but yielded five walks in his time on the mound, including four in the final frame.  Travis Kreitz picked up the win by pitching...

The West Lawn Owls will host the eight team state tournament which begins July 26th.  West Lawn will also host the final three rounds of the Berks County Playoffs.  The team has released its full schedule, which includes 21 games in the newly reformatted Berks County League.  The full schedule, as well as other information about the Owls can be found at the link below.

The Schuylkill-Berks League will kick off its second year on Memorial Day Weekend with sixteen teams, including a joint Oley - Topton venture.  The league's schedule is linked below.

The Northampton County League, in the state's Region 2, has released its league schedule for the upcoming season.  The link to the league's website is below.

The Mid-Atlantic National Regional will again return to Boyertown's Bear Stadium this August.  The host Bears will be joined by seven other teams in the reconfigured regional, including two other Pennsylvania teams.  Boyertown's schedule has been posted on the WZAR News website.  The link to the full schedule is below.

The Lehigh Valley Legion League in Region 2 has announced its schedule for the upcoming season.  The ten team league gets 2011 underway during Memorial Day Weekend.  Find the complete schedule on the league's official site at the link below.

In years past, Boyertown has hosted teams from all over the eastern United States.  How does your team approach scheduling your non-league schedule, and do you generally have an overwhelming response to play games at Bear Stadium? 

We're proud to present another exclusive interview to our loyal readers.  Coach Rick Moatz, manager of the Boyertown Bears, has been gracious enough to lend some of his time and insight about the game and his team.  Boyertown has amassed the most state championships in PA history, including winning four in a row between 2006 and 2009.  They will host the 2011 Mid-Atlantic National Regional Tournament this summer.

The Shillington Red Sox of the Berks County League in Region 2 have announced their schedule for the upcoming season.  Of particular note is the format change we'll be seeing in the Berks County League this year.  Seven inning doubleheaders will be utilized in addition to a third full length game against each opponent in the now eight team league.

What type of interaction, if any, do you have with the high school coaches that your legion team draws from?

We're proud to present another exclusive interview to our site.  Kevin Manero, the manager of the Nor-Gwyn Hawks of the Bux-Mont League in Region 2, has been gracious enough to answer some of our questions and give visitors some insight into legion baseball coaching.  Kevin has managed some of the finest teams in the state for the last nine years, including coaching his team to the 2005 PA state title.

Some pretty big news out of the southeastern part of the state as the Oley Lynx and Topton Rams have agreed to join forces for the 2011 season.  The two teams got the blessing of the league board and will take the field this year in the league's south division under the new moniker of Oley/Topton.

The best season in Pennridge history has officially come to a close, but not before an incredible run through the state and national regional tournaments.  Pennridge dropped a 6-2 decision against Indiana champion Terre Haute who came into the game with a gaudy 40-6 record.

Pennridge couldn't have been too pleased with their 13-4 loss yesterday at the hands of the Ohio state champions from Tuscarawas County.  They bounced back today, handily defeating the host of the Great Lakes Regional.
